Title: Mid-Level Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location:  Phoenix, AZ / Hybrid

Type: Perm

Compensation: $90,000 – $120,000

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Mid-Level Network Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a hybrid infrastructure environment serving a growing SaaS organization.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 3–5 years of experience who enjoys working across networking, systems administration, cloud technologies, and security. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day infrastructure operations, improving reliability and security, and contributing to modernization initiatives as the organization continues its transition toward a cloud-first architecture.

Working closely with engineering leadership and external partners, this individual will help maintain critical infrastructure while gaining exposure to cloud transformation, automation, compliance, and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Support and maintain a hybrid infrastructure environment spanning colocated data centers and Microsoft Azure
  • Assist in ensuring system uptime, reliability, backup processes, and disaster recovery readiness
  • Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, networking equipment, firewalls, VPNs, and related infrastructure services
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues impacting availability, security, or performance
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades, hardware refreshes, and system improvements
  • Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, system inventories, and operational procedures

Cloud & Modernization

  • Support Azure administration and cloud-based services
  • Participate in cloud migration and modernization initiatives
  • Assist with infrastructure automation, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment process improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support application deployments and infrastructure requirements
  • Help implement scalable and reliable cloud solutions aligned with business needs

Security & Compliance

  • Assist with security monitoring, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and access management
  • Help maintain security controls across on-premises and cloud environments
  • Participate in incident response activities and security investigations as needed
  • Support SOC 2 Type II compliance efforts, including evidence collection, policy reviews, audit preparation, and remediation activities
  • Assist in responding to customer security questionnaires and compliance-related requests

Vendor & Team Collaboration

  • Work with managed service providers and technology vendors to support infrastructure operations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve infrastructure and security-related issues
  • Contribute recommendations for improving operational processes, security posture, and system reliability

What Success Looks Like

First 30–60 Days

  • Gain familiarity with the current infrastructure environment and architecture
  • Develop an understanding of operational procedures, systems, and dependencies
  • Take ownership of assigned infrastructure support responsibilities
  • Build relationships with engineering leadership, vendors, and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to documentation and process improvement efforts

First 6–12 Months

  • Become a trusted contributor to infrastructure and security operations
  • Help improve system reliability, monitoring, and operational efficiency
  • Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives
  • Contribute to security improvements and compliance activities
  • Assist in implementing automation and infrastructure enhancements
  • Demonstrate increasing ownership of projects and operational responsibilities

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience supporting production infrastructure environments
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based services
  • Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory environments
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and related infrastructure technologies
  • Experience supporting endpoint security, access management, or vulnerability remediation efforts
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience documenting systems, procedures, and technical environments

Preferred

  • Experience in a SaaS or software development environment
  • Exposure to Azure migrations or cloud modernization projects
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, identity management, and single sign-on technologies
  • Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code, automation tools, or CI/CD processes
  • Experience working with colocated data centers or hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar security platforms
  • Azure, Microsoft Security, or networking certifications
